The goal of the MD/PhD program at the University of Toronto is to generate physician scientists who are well prepared, highly competitive, and productive. The program aims to continue its legacy of educating students in science and medicine so that they are well positioned for success as a physician scientist.

Clinician Investigator Program

The University of Toronto Clinician Investigator Program (CIP) is an accredited postgraduate medical education training program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. The aim of the CIP is to prepare individuals for a career combining speciality medical practice and research. The areas of research available for study include traditional areas of laboratory and clinical biomedical research as well as fields such as economics and management, social behavioural and information sciences as they apply to health and disease.
