MD/PhD Program

The Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ottawa launched an MD/PhD program in 2009 that will allow exceptional students to pursue the two degrees concurrently over the course of seven years. The program will provide the opportunity to pursue a career in basic science research, disease-oriented research, or research focused on patients.

Clinician Investigator Program

The goal of the Clinician Investigator Program (CIP) at the University of Ottawa is to foster the development of clinician investigators by providing a formal postgraduate medical education pathway that fulfills the existing specialty/subspecialty requirements of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and to provide a minimum of two years of structured, rigorous research training.
