MD/PhD Program

McGill University offers the joint MD/PhD program for students interested in a research career in academic medicine. The MD/PhD program is offered jointly by the Faculty of Medicine and the Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies Office through individual Departments offering PhD degrees. It is a seven year program in which basic sciences and clinical sciences are combined.

Clinician Investigator Program

The goal of the McGill University Clinician Investigator Program (CIP) is to assist in the career development of clinician-investigators in Canada by providing a formalized postgraduate educational program that fulfills the existing clinical training requirements of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and provides a minimum of two years of structured research training.
