The Clinician Investigator Trainee Association of Canada (CITAC)
The Clinician Investigator Trainee Association of Canada (CITAC) represents the interests of trainees registered in Canadian clinician investigator (CI) and clinician scientist training programs, including MD/MSc, MD/PhD, CIP (Clinician Investigator Program), Surgeon Scientist and similar programs across Canada.
CITAC is comprised of and governed solely by volunteer CI trainees. As such, all activities carried out by CITAC are in the interest of CI trainees and therefore do not generate a profit. Accordingly, CITAC has officially attained federal not-for-profit status in Canada.
CITAC members have access to the national network of CI trainees, mentors from across Canada and opportunities for funding. Members may sign in at the right for access to many more resources and networking opportunities.
Please visit our public pages listed in the main menu for information about the organization, upcoming events and relevant literature.
The CITAC mission is to organize and promote activities that support clinician investigator trainees in Canada, with the intention to improve academic and post-graduate career opportunities, expand institutional and public awareness of clinician investigator programs and develop a nationally accessible information database of student and program development. CITAC aims to improve the early-career conditions of clinician investigators in order to expand and advance innovative research initiatives within Canada.
Donate to CITAC-ACCFC
Starting in 2012-2013, CITAC-ACCFC will be creating trainee awards to recognize trainee excellence. CITAC-ACCFC is currently accepting online donations toward these awards.
CITAC is pleased to acknowledge the support of several organizations, training programs and funding bodies, without whom the various initiatives and meetings conducted by CITAC would not be possible. The CIHR Institute of Genetics and the Burroughs Wellcome Fund have been perennial supporters of CITAC activities and programs.
